Guildford Lodge

This scheme involved the refurbishment of an historic Grade II listed residential building with turret features, vaulted ceilings and flint external walls.

The existing roof was stripped back to enable the cantilevered extension structure to be built.

The single storey, partly cantilevered roof top extension (with a patio area below) in turret like form was constructed using radiused steel beams and ‘spokes’ to resist torsional forces.

This scheme required careful detailing of steelwork to reflect the architectural aims of the project.
