Hanbury Street

A storey height extension has been built on top of the existing four storey reinforced concrete framed office building.

The existing roof beams have been strengthened with steel plates to allow a new lightweight steel frame structure to be supported off it.  The steel frame supports long span virendeel roof trusses housing north lights and creating an open plan floor.  The continuation of a framed structure also addresses issues of disproportionate collapse.
